The role
As a Security Officer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Sense and Connect is a thriving and growing business unit within Mission Systems. We are transforming and we need you to support us in forging new paths, and contributing as we grow through exciting, but sometimes challenging change. As we grow our business, we have premises that requires 24/7, 365 days security cover. As a member of our security team, you will be working within a small team to provide security cover at our Tewkesbury site.
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Securing premises with regular patrolling of property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment and access points; permitting entry if required
- Obtaining help by sounding alarms including marshalling
- Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing staff and visitors of policy and procedures; deterring trespassers
- Compiling reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
- Maintaining environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
Essential experience of the Security Officer,
- Ideally you will have previous security experience, but this is not essential
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Able to work well with others
This role is based on site at Tewkesbury. The shift pattern will comprise of 12 hour shifts over 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off.
Qualifications for the Security Officer,
- GCSE - Maths, English
- Relevant qualifications desirable, but not essential i.e. BTEC Level 3 Security Management or SIA
The successful candidate must be able to achieve DV security clearance level for this role.
