We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Security Officer to join our Avon and Somerset Courts account in Bristol. The role is based on-site at Bristol Magistrates Court, Marlborough Street, Bristol, BS1 3NU.
The salary is £11.39 per hour (after completion of training)
Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the regional headquarters and courthouses for North Somerset and Bristol through a Private Finance Initiative contract.
Every day our people keep 18 courtrooms, 40 custody cells, 30 interview rooms, public areas and administration offices secure, safe, clean and complaint.
We work in partnership with our clients and court staff to ensure the 24/7 service we provide is delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of court proceedings.
The standard hours of work are 48 hours per week (12 shifts on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern)

You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out patrols as prescribed
- Covering the reception area out of hours
- Ensuring all security and fire incidents are recorded appropriately
- This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
- Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- S.I.A licence
- Capable of gaining co-operation from people, diffuse aggression and provide clear reports
- Good customer care skills
- Able to exercise initiative and prioritize duties accordingly
- Able to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision
