Overview of role Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme Salary: £26,911.32 Hours: 42 hours working 2 days & 2 nights (4 on 4 off) We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Security Officer to join our Security Team at Allied Bakeries. Reporting directly to the duty Manufacturing FLM, the Security Officer role involves security of the site, primarily through operation and monitoring of CCTV, patrolling of the site and coordination and participation of security checks of staff and visitors. Acting as an integral part of the Security Team, you will constantly seek ways to improve systems and techniques to improve standards. Our site is 24/7, so you'll need to be flexible to work a two day, two-night shift pattern on a 4 on 4 off basis. Key Accountabilities: Check and record details of visitor’s and delivery vehicles. Assist the Senior Manager on site with any aspect of site control, fire, visitors, and discipline. Assist in Company Fire Precautions, Fire Exits and Fire Extinguisher checks and record it. Act as First Aider, undertaking First Aid training when required. Follow legal obligations of the Health and Safety at Work Act, Section 7, to take reasonable care of yourself and others. To report hazards and faults to assist in the prevention of accidents and co-operate with accident investigations. To actively contribute to the site standards and respective internal and external audits required by the company. Ensure control of Security Keys and key allocation to designated personnel only. The Right Person: Previous security experience highly desirable Previous experience of operating CCTV The ability to manage any situation with diplomacy and fairness Ideally have knowledge of manufacturing and despatch operations Ability to recognise and analyse problems and implement action Ability to prioritise on an hourly and day to day basis Good communication skills at all levels, both with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work under pressure, reacting rapidly as situations requires Ability to implement decisions based on set procedures and own initiatives Our defining value is to ‘Be the best we can be’; the behaviors that we believe help us to do this & are key to our success are: Aim high, I do what I say, Work Together & Everybody Matters.
