Job Purpose
Ensure the security of Meadowhall and the safety of the people therein by endeavouring to attain a trouble free/crime environment
Duties & Responsibilities
The following is a list of your primary duties and responsibilities. Please remember that you are part of a larger CCS at Meadowhall team that the list below is not exhaustive, and we should therefore be willing to help and assist all our colleagues in other teams within the business at any time.
· Hi-Visibility - patrolling the centre, car parks and surrounding lands.
· Crime prevention and detection.
· Provide excellent customer service.
· Ensure that company and statutory health and safety policies are complied within all areas of the centre.
· Accurate reporting and documentation of incidents.
· Be helpful, approachable, courteous at all times and maintain good relationships between Meadowhall; retailers; members of the public and emergency services.
· Carry out all duties willingly and give 100% commitment at all times.
· Comply policies on dress, appearance and hygiene at all times.
· Undertake any training or development instruction as and when required.
· Carry out all duties approved by the Security Manager.
Communication and interpersonal skills
· Liaise and communicate with line mangers and other operatives on day to day security matters. Inform line managers of any problems arising.
· Be helpful, approachable and courteous at all times and maintain good relationships between Meadowhall and both internal and external customers to include but not exclusively internal departments; retailers; suppliers and emergency services.
· Communication with customers and retailers if required for centre orientated questions and/or problems.
· Deal with any problems that may arise with customers, diffusing situations using appropriate training and procedures.
Problem solving and decision making
· Comply with and enforce all company rules, regulations and procedures, including standing orders.
· Regulate the movement of traffic, organise and control the parking of vehicles and storage of bicycles.
· Effectively and efficiently patrol and police the shopping malls, car parks, roadways, coach parks and service areas within Meadowhall.
· Liaise with Police and other authorities regarding general public and those employed within the centre.
· Complete relevant paperwork after any incident has occurred.
· Responsible for administering correct first aid techniques to those requiring them, following appropriate training.
Working Conditions
Normal working conditions include patrolling the centre, both internally and externally. May require occasional work outside in clearing snow and ice. The role will be physically challenging as there are multiple levels in the centre which would include ladders, climbing stairs and walking.
The post holder will be working internally and externally of the centre and therefore will be subjected to varied weather conditions (sun, rain, sleet snow, wind, etc.). Ability to attend any situation, including confrontational situations and able to resolve accordingly.
