Job description
Saint Rita School in Alexandria, Virginia, is a Catholic School in the Classical tradition. We teach students to serve God and others and to always seek the good, the true, and the beautiful. We are a small and close-knit community, in which all of the staff and students, as well as most of the families, know each other and support one another. We are seeking a school secretary for the 2023-2024 school year, possibly starting this summer if possible.
Our secretary is the face and voice of our school, joyfully greeting and interacting with our staff, students, and families. The main office is the heart of our school, and this position requires an ability to multi-task, chipping away at projects while continually pausing to open the door, answer the phone, or make an extra copy for a teacher who came up short. The ideal applicant would thrive in an environment humming with activity, and maintain excellent organization and follow through on all tasks. Computer skills are a must, and familiarity with PowerSchool (both enrollment side and gradebook side) would be ideal - but not required.
Spanish language skills would be wonderful, but also are not required. We hope to find a strong practicing Catholic who shares our Faith and believes in our mission - to get all of these wonderful kids into Heaven someday!
