About you

Main qualities:
- An experienced mathematics teacher who is a skilled practitioner looking to develop their leadership skills within a supportive team.
- A highly motivated and hard-working person with the capacity to contribute to the on-going development of the school and the department.
- Have a belief in promoting and nurturing a culture of consistency and high expectations across a department.
- Have experience of leading areas of development or initiatives within a department.
- An engaging communicator with a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning.

About the Role
Working closely with the Head of Maths, you will support the wider leadership of the faculty and lead the design, implementation and impact monitoring of the mathematics curriculum. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a department that is developing a positive culture and environment for learning mathematics.
Main duties:
- To support and contribute to the department in providing leadership and strategic direction to the subject by supporting the head of subject to:
- Ensure consistently high levels of progress for all students
- Ensure high standards and expectation from students and staff
- Create and sustain the provision of high-quality teaching and learning
- To communicate clear purpose and vision to the team , providing clear, cohesive leadership and direction in the department.
- To contribute to the strategic development of the subject area by implementing whole school new initiatives, monitoring and reporting on key outcomes.
- To contribute and lead on strands of the department development plan to ensure they make a significant contribution to the improvement of teaching and learning.
- To support the Head of Subject in the monitoring processes in the department using self-evaluation and development planning as an opportunity and tool to raise aspiration and achievement.
