We are looking for a full time Screen Printer Trainee to join our very well-established, experienced screen print team.
Purpose of position:
To operate production equipment within specified work instructions and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Produce high quality printed parts at all times, whilst driving zero defects target by ensuring compliance at all to recognised procedures and work instructions
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all associated documentation
- Ensure that all times and print speeds (Sakurai) are recorded via the onsite computer system, so that continuous improvement techniques can be carried out
- Maintain and assist in continual feedback loop which aids the development of individual skill base and the team
- Carry out general machine maintenance as per the maintenance plans
- Drive a continuous improvement culture based on KPI measurements
- Work to the ISO9001 Quality Procedures
- Operate Hand Printing, Semi-Auto Printing and Sakurai Cylinder Press Printing machines
- Drive and maintain housekeeping standards
- To assist in other production areas when required to ensure production targets are met
- Operate all equipment to the manufacturer’s specification and instructions
Qualifications/ experience:
· Previous experience in a print environment would be beneficial
· Previous ink mixing experience would be beneficial
· Previous screen making experience would be beneficial
Training:
You will receive full training and over time gain valuable skills.
For the successful candidate, with the right approach, further training will also be offered leading to eventually being a skilled screen print machine operator. If desired, we can also set it up as a recognised level 2 or 3 apprenticeship for the right candidate.
Previous experience is not necessary, but we are looking for a person who might have proven art & design interest or similar and is ready to learn.
The basic hours are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, Monday to Friday with occasional over-time at busy periods. Shifts for this role are on a rotational basis, alternating between 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm.
Your hours of work will be 40 hours per week working a shift pattern.
