Jackson Hogg are thrilled to be supporting a local science innovation centre in their search for a chemist to join the expanding materials team.
This is the perfect role for a junior candidate eager to start their career in chemistry. The Scientist will work under technical supervision of line manager and senior colleagues to deliver projects and experiments to external and internal customers.
Responsibilities
- To conduct state of the art research, develop new processes, fabricate a range of devices using functional coating techniques and perform materials characterisation.
- To set up, plan and execute experimental / pilot scale runs and analyse, interpret and report the results of these within agreed timescales and quality standards, and in accordance with project / client requirements.
- To be responsible for providing clearly documented records of technical data, decisions, methodologies, calculations, and software use in an agreed format.
- General lab duties including health and safety, the maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Requirements
- Degree or qualification in Chemistry (or Material Science)
- A strong chemical understanding in chemistry
- Experience with vacuum chemistry, coating experience or materials characterisation techniques.
- Willingness to learn and entrepreneurial spirit

Salary: From £25,000.00 per year
