Job description
We are seeking an organized, reliable, detail and service-oriented warehouse supervisor to join our growing team. In this position, you will monitor warehouse inventory as well as manage warehouse staff to ensure that products are stored and shipped out in an accurate, efficient manner. Previous warehouse experience is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and oversee all warehouse logistics
- Supervise and direct warehouse staff; put worker safety as a top priority
- Track and account for all incoming and outgoing products
- Confirm proper and timely delivery of products
- Perform various inventory counts; order supplies and goods as needed
- Supervise all forklift operations
- Maintain warehouse and machinery, ensuring equipment is serviced when needed and a clean and tidy workspace is kept at all times
- Maintain shipping documentation, manifests, and receipts; enter relevant data in reports as needed
- Ensure that shipment materials match packing lists before dispatching orders
- Ensure proper transport, packaging, and placement of products
- Abide by and enforce facility rules and state laws and regulations
- Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning in order to create a more efficient fulfilment system
- Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries.
- Track inventory levels
- Order new supplies in a timely manner
- Make suggestions for productivity improvements
- Determine and track most important warehouse KPIs
- Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Motivate and lead warehouse staff to effectively carry out given tasks
- Assist in the hiring and training process of new warehouse staff
- Constantly work to improve processes
- Optimize employee workflow
- Communicate and collaborate with other team members
- Train, guide and evaluate new warehouse workers.
EXPERIENCE
- Supervisory and Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop and supervise others
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills, in particular spreadsheets and databases and a knowledge of warehouse systems
- Analytical and numerical
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
- Good planning skills and able to meet targets and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail skills

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2,
- An appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous
- Certified in: Dangerous Goods Handling
- A supervisory qualification would also be beneficial
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience of supervising and motivating a team
- A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous
- Fork Lift Truck licence may be required
