Position Title: Corporate Retail Barista (3 Month Term)

Team and Location: Calgary, AB

Minimum Starting Wage: $18.31 / hour

Position Summary:

The Corporate Retail Barista (CRB) will be responsible for interacting with Parkland Employees and providing customer service support in a professional, downtown corporate office. The CRB will be responsible for the inventory of on-site retail office convenience store, tracking the costs of the items, participating in coordinating the promotion of On the Run food items and preparing beverages as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service
    • Providing a customer focused experience and maintaining a professional manner while interacting with all levels of Parkland employees.
    • Engaging with visitors as required.
    • Comfort in speaking to groups and dealing with many customer requests during rush periods.
  • Product Preparation and Knowledge
    • Menu knowledge & preparation of beverages.
    • Ability to set up snack kiosks and displays for On The Run in a corporate setting.
  • Snack Kiosks Inventory Maintenance
    • Ordering, stocking of snack kiosk items.
    • Promoting On The Run branded items as requested.
    • Tracking cost and losses on retail convenience store items in a Corporate setting as requested.
  • Cleaning & Preventative Maintenance
    • Cleaning food areas as per food safety requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1-2 years experience in a restaurant services in roles that deal directly with customers and the public.
  • Barista experience.
  • Experience serving customers and making them feel welcome in a business setting.
  • Knowledge about retail store operations, stocking, ordering.
  • Ability to work in the MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to work with Square for product inventory, pricing, and point of sale transactions.
  • Able to make sound judgement on issues with limited guidance.
  • Knowledge of food safety and overall workplace safety (slips, trips and falls).
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods, lift boxes and some physical set up of food displays.
  • Ability to successfully multitask and determine priority of tasks.
