We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Cleaner to join our friendly team. Experience of working in a School or other large premises is preferred, but training will be provided and the most important requirements are commitment to the role and reliability.
About the Role
The role is part time, working after-school hours each day. The contract is for 10 hours per week, all year round. The hours of work are 3.30pm to 5.30pm daily, Monday to Friday.
The post holder is entitled to 5 weeks’ annual leave (rising after 5 years’ service, to be taken during the School holidays, and agreed with the Site Manager) plus statutory Bank Holidays. During School holiday periods, it may be possible to compress your working hours in to longer shifts across fewer days, subject to agreement with the Site Manager.
The role is to undertake, as part of a team, the cleaning of designated areas within School to ensure that they are kept in a clean condition.
Key duties will include:
- Vacuuming
- Cleaning
- Sweeping and mopping
- Washing and wiping down
- Emptying and cleaning bins
- Cleaning school toilet areas and replenishing toiletries
- Dusting and polishing
- Cleaning low-level windows
- Spot cleaning any spillages as required
- Reporting hazards or defects to the Site Manager
- Adhering to School procedures, including those relating to Health & Safety and COSHH
