The Post:
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic people to carry out the role of School Minibus Driver. Part-time roles, with hours of duties from 6.30am – 9.00am and 3.30pm – 6.30pm, (times may vary slightly, depending on route allocated) Monday to Friday.
Operating safely one of the School Minibuses, collecting pupils from given pick-up points and bringing them to School in the mornings and/or collecting them from School and dropping them back to given points in the afternoons.
Responsibilities of the post include:
Ensuring that pupils are collected from prescribed stops on time (taking account of local traffic conditions) and brought to school in the mornings and / or returning pupils from school to prescribed stops in the afternoons.
- The hours of minibus work are 6.30am – 9am and 3.30pm – 6.30pm, Monday to Friday
- Keeping the minibus clean and in good condition, including but not restricted to:
- Ensuring that signs inside the bus are properly attached and in good condition.
- Undertaking a daily visual inspection/checking of tyres, lights, oil, water, fuel
- Reporting any necessary works to the Maintenance Manager
- Assisting with general repairs and maintenance as required
All staff share responsibility for the good running of the school by:
- Adhering to all relevant school policies including health and safety, safeguarding policies and staff dress code
- Setting an excellent example to all pupils and always maintaining high professional standards.
- Maintaining high standards of pupil behaviour and discipline at all times
- Providing cover for absent colleagues
- Understanding and demonstrating an active commitment to the safeguarding of pupils and staff through adherence to and development of policy and practice
Abiding by the law and ensuring the safety of your passengers is paramount.
- Minibus driving training (MIDAS) will be provided
Person specification
- An experienced driver (ideally in passenger transport)
- A clean UK driving licence with D1 entitlement is a requirement of this role.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Punctual, reliable, and flexible.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to interpret and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, pupils and visitors to the school grounds
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Flexible approach to work including a willingness to work additional hours if required, and on occasional weekends to cover events, for example at Open Day and St Antony Day
- Ability to work to deadlines

Pay and benefits
- A generous shift payment for each minibus shift i.e., for morning and evening shifts
- There is car parking on site, and the School is easily accessible by bus
- At specified times, staff may use the Schools fitness suite, and during Trinity Term staff may use the swimming pool at the advertised times
