Key Responsibilities
To support the Attendance and Admissions Officer in maintaining the school’s records assuring that the schools attendance records are kept in line with statutory requirements.
Attendance
- Input daily attendance data accurately into the school’s management information system (Bromcom);
- Ensure registers are accurately taken in a timely fashion and follow up with staff missing registers;
- Daily ‘first day response’ with parent of absent students using a variety of tools, working in a cohesive and effective manner, in order that daily routines are well managed;
- Assist the Attendance and Admissions Officers by working proactively with colleagues to ensure visits and correspondence with parents and carers, to ensure students with attendance concerns are attending school, inviting them to engage with all strategies;
- Discuss student attendance issues with the parents, following up with other parties as appropriate;
- Complete all, paperwork in connection with attendance to a high standard, with an eye for detail and accuracy;
- Complete correspondence and answer the telephone as necessary;
- Maintain an excellent record and filing system, both manually and computerised, as appropriate;
- Deal with enquiries from parents;
- Home visits and welfare checks.
General Administration
- To undertake administrative and clerical support duties and work closely with colleagues across the Academy. You will need excellent ICT skills and be able to multi-task and demonstrate attention to detail.
Generic Responsibilities
- Comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person;
- Contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the Academy;
- Undertake any other duties that can be accommodated within the grading level and nature of this post.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and obtain any other statutorily required clearance. Employment will also be conditional on the receipt of at least two acceptable references (1 from current/latest employer) and evidence of the formal qualifications required for the role.
