School Administrator/ Receptionist

● Contract/Hours: Fixed term contract until the end of the academic year 31.08.2023 but likely that this will be extended

● Salary Details: £21,575- £22,369 p.a. pro rata’d to your hours of work.
● Hours of Work: 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday in School term time, a total of 32.5 hours per week over 38 weeks

Job/Person Summary
Comper is a very friendly, welcoming Maintained Nursery School for 2 - 4 year olds.
We are looking for a ‘front of house’ administrator/ receptionist who has an excellent customer focus as you will generally be the first point of contact for all parents and visitors to the School. You will be supported by the School Business Manager and the Headteacher who can guide you through the many different aspects of the role as you settle in.
The position would be suitable for a person with experience of working in an office environment and/or in a school setting, who is happy to work as part of a team as well as independently and be able to be proactive in their approach to work.
The role will involve using school IT systems and keeping all records up to date, training can be given on school specific packages but you should have experience of using IT, including Word, Excel and Google.
This is a fixed term position until the end of the next academic year 31.08.2024 with the high chance that it will be extended.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors
- Manage school email communications
- Monitor attendance
- Assisting with arrangements for visits by school nurse, photographer etc.
- Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, emailing, complete routine forms
- Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems
- Undertake routine administration e.g. registers/school meals
- Be a fire marshal
