Job Title: Salesperson – Design & Build

Salary: £35,000.00 + Bonus (on target earnings @£50,000 +)

Plant Designs are London’s foremost design-led plant experts, providing quality service to the capital’s workplaces.

We design, install, and care for some of the city’s most innovative interior landscapes, working with over 350 clients to bring the benefits of planting to their buildings. We pride ourselves on our award-winning planting design and our ability, through the commitment and experience of our team, to care for them.

As a company, we are made up of three departments: Commercial/Office planting, Retail and Events. Our Design & Build team is at the forefront of our commercial team and work with interior designers and architects to bring major design projects to life.

The Role

We are looking for a focused and energetic Salesperson, with a passion for biophilic and horticultural design, to join our rapidly expanding Sales department in the Design & Build team at Plant Designs.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who has a strong understanding of sales processes and the ability to excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

  • Represent Plant Designs products and services, adhering to our core principles and contributing to overall company growth.
  • Achieve periodic sales targets and KPIs by successfully implementing sales strategies and tactics.
  • Develop inbound sales enquiries from initial contact, through project development, design stages and eventual contract completion.
  • Generate leads and build relationships within the Architecture and Design community in London, as well as continuing existing working relationships with connections.
  • Work to a sales action plan using comprehensive data analysis and adjust sales techniques according to interactions and results in the field.
  • Follow up inbound sales enquiries, make effective qualifying sales calls, set appointments, and manage the sales cycle to close business.
  • Regular attendance at networking events and trade shows in order to grow existing network of A&D connections.
  • Develop an in-depth product knowledge and be able to speak with confidence on Plant Designs services to different types of clienteles.
  • Work with in-house graphic design team to prepare concise and accurate proposals, tender pitches, presentations, and other required documentation for executive-level presentations.
  • Coordinate with senior sales team to ensure that targets are being met and core principles are being always upheld.
  • Connect other areas of the business with potential sales leads and cross-sell our range of services.
  • Apply knowledge and expertise across other departments in the company from time to time.

Candidate skills and experience

  • 5+ years of sales experience within a similar industry.
  • Experience in negotiation with clients of a senior level.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills.
  • A quick learner with the initiative to work both independently and in a team.
  • Personable and professional.
  • Ability to showcase our designs in a compelling way through presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, namely PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism.
  • Strong ability to create opportunities and manage own time/tasks.
  • Although not essential, experience in the commercial construction and fitout projects/sales is preferable.

This is a full-time role based in Central London, working between our Farringdon office/showroom and client sites. Basic salary £35,000, plus bonus (on target earnings £50,000+).
