Department Profile:
The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader across a broad range of commodities markets, with expertise in areas including client risk management, financing solutions and investor products Sales & Trading
The Sales Strat Organization is seeking a highly talented and motivated desk strategist with at least three years of experience in financial markets and/or engineering. The successful candidate will help execute on strategic visions / business growth opportunities, manage technology projects, generate quantitative and qualitative content, and interface with a variety of business areas in a fast paced, real-time trading environment. The job will require excellent communication skills, excellent organizational and project management skills, and excellent programming and data analytics skills in python.
- Project manage various Sales initiated projects in FID across the globe working with various Sales & IT teams
- Daily interaction with FX Sales people to understand their product and execution workflow whilst gathering requirements for system/process enhancements
- Distil and document these workflows and combine with system interactions to articulate to users, stakeholders, management the intended strategic changes
- Analyse various data points to prioritise and justify development e.g. trade volume vs. EV/Sales Credit
- Compile weekly tracking/status reports to send to various stakeholders across projects and BAU issues
- Partner closely with IT developers on Sales requirements which includes error replication, user acceptance testing and overall workflow testing
- Create, maintain and organise the various projects / book of works within the Sales Strat organisation via Jira etc.
- Update reference materials as workflows/processes/data changes e.g. user guides, payout schedules, etc.
- Daily scrum calls with IT squads to organise sprints and timely delivery
- Troubleshoot Sales BAU items including but not limited to involving/escalating to production management teams #LI-KF1
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in economics/mathematics/finance/computer science (including data science)
- Some financial product knowledge required; knowledge of Fixed Income products (especially FX) a plus
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Moderate to advanced quantitative skills and programming ability in a major language, preferably Python: experience with coding such as SQL, KDB+, q and Python a plus
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues widely dispersed geographically
- Ability to translate, at time, vague end user requirements into clear & precise technology strategy & requirements
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Sensitivity to details, accuracy in everyday work
- Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation
- Ability to present complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing, is essential
- Manage personal queue, i.e. Issue Tracking and Reporting (JIRA)
