The Central Sales team are a key part of this, and they make sure that our members get the best experience out of their membership. We are looking for a Central Sales Specialist to join them.

The Central Sales team are there for prospect members right at the beginning of their journey with us. Of course, they support them in buying memberships (and they do have targets to meet), but the team want to make sure that our members get the best possible exercise experience with us too. They spend time getting to know what the members goals are, and what they want to achieve with us. They spends time aligning those aims with the club, making sure that they can come to life.

The Central Sales Specialist provides outstanding customer service. They have an understanding of the member experience, and responsible for sharing that with prospective customers for all Virgin Active clubs across the UK. They inspire our potential members and play an active part in the business achieving monthly UK sales targets. Customer Sales Specialists have a varied workload, so have an agile mind, and always ready to think on their feet. Exceeding expectations at every opportunity is always the goal.

About You

So what qualities does a Central Sales Specialist need to join Virgin Active?

  • You have strong interpersonal abilities - it is vital that you have a genuine interest in wanting to help and inspire our new customers as well as the team.
  • You have an excellent telephone manner and great written communication skills at all levels. You will get our new members excited and inspired for their new membership by understanding their goals and aspirations; what is it they’ve always wanted to achieve?
  • You are a proactive learner, understanding and participating in Virgin Active facilities and classes so that you can credibly speak about membership from first-hand experience. You will be able to inspire members to achieve their goals using your thorough understanding of the caller and Virgin Active.
  • You have an open attitude to learning, developing your skills and consistently look to improve your personal development utilising the support from your team and manager.
  • You have strong written skills. You’ll need to be comfortable writing freely (we don’t like templates) and have excellent knowledge of grammar and spelling. You’ll also need an eye for detail and the ability to adapt your writing style accordingly.
  • You have great time management skills and with a self-starter attitude.
  • You have the ability to remain calm and think on your feet.
  • You have excellent administration and organisation skills and proficient in using a computer, including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • You will act as a member of one team with one goal, will always be yourself, and work hard. Most importantly, you dream big
  • You are always looking for ways to learn and improve, to inspire people while having fun and doing the right thing
