Graduate Environmental Consultant
The Vacancy
We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Environmental Consultant to join our growing Environmental Services team in the Hollis London office.
The role of Graduate Environmental Consultant is for new entrants to environmental consultancy. The role will primarily be writing Phase 1 reports relating to the TDD instructions and carrying out site inspections, with opportunities to supervise site investigation work across the UK.
There will be opportunities to work across all types of sites and business, working on a variety of projects with guidance from senior colleagues.

Responsibilities
- Assists with the design of scopes of work for environmental projects with input from senior colleagues.
- Assist with the delivery of routine projects on time and within budget, with scope to work on more complex projects with guidance.
- Assists with the drafting of key client communications and fee proposals.
- Provide limited assistance on site work, undertaking specific tasks under the direction of the site investigation lead.
- Manages own time and workload, with guidance from line manager and senior colleagues.
- Proactively communicates workload issues to senior colleagues.
- Able to communicate with clients using email and verbally in order to provide updates, and disseminate results, with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Able to field queries from internal colleagues and provide robust advice, with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Completing accurate technical research and data gathering tasks with minimal supervision.
- Drafting of high quality reports.
- Supports business development and profile raising, under the direction of senior colleagues.
- Pro-actively learns from senior colleagues.
- Maintains awareness of current and evolving issues in the sector.
Experience
- Degree or MSc in a related subject (such as Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Geography). Some work experience in a commercial property environment ideal but not essential.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
- Clean driving licence

The ideal candidate will have a professional and can-do attitude, be self-motivated, enthusiastic, proactive and be able to prioritise and multi-task. They will have excellent organisational abilities to be able to balance different tasks ensuring deadlines are met whilst maintaining highest levels of accuracy. They are required to be flexible and have the ability to work under pressure and importantly is passionate about the built environment. We welcome applicants with language skills and we would love to second people to go abroad or recruit nationals from Europe to do our UK training before relocating to one of the European offices.
