About the Job:-

A vacancy has become available for a talented Jewellery Designer to work within Luxury Retail Sales. The vacancy is to cover maternity leave, duration in excess of 12 months. This position presents a great unique learning opportunity to join a busy and highly successful established independent Retail Jeweller; experience and skills will be gained from hands-on responsibilities. Michael Platt specialise in Fine Stock Jewellery sales and particularly in sales of specially designed unique Bespoke Jewellery made on-site. We are looking to recruit someone special, passionate about jewellery, motivated, enthusiastic and forward looking in growing their skills, especially the creation and manufacture of Bespoke Jewellery. Ideally you will have artistic creativity in being able to sketch bespoke jewellery ideas when dealing and interacting with customers for inspiration to secure sales. You will have the opportunity to handle and source beautiful gemstones and sparkling diamonds, used in the design, sale and completion of finished bespoke jewellery pieces; a fully rewarding process from design through to finished piece. You will also be selling fine stock item pieces, and dealing with items for repair, restoration and valuation, as well as enquiries on the phone, in person and by email.
We are a passionate independent Retail Jewellery Shop in Wimbledon Village, well known for our excellent standards in crafting specialist Bespoke treasured jewellery pieces in our visible on-site studio workshop.
Candidates should have the following qualities and experience :
Training offered
· A proven sales record in the Luxury Retail Sector, ideally fine jewellery, ability to close sales
· Product knowledge in fine jewellery, diamonds and gemstones advantageous
· Drawing skills with creative ability to sketch jewellery ideas
· Willingness to learn how to deal with bespoke jewellery sales
· Able to demonstrate organisational and administrative skills in the work place
· Good computer skills
Required:-
· Passion for Jewellery pieces, diamonds and gemstones
· Motivated team player with ‘can-do’ pro-active attitude
· Total and full attention to every detail of work
· Great interpersonal skills and customer engagement
· Excellent administrative, numerical and organisational skills
· Good communicator with articulate well spoken and written English
· Smart appearance with warm, friendly and welcoming personality
· Top level customer service principles
This is a challenging and sometimes, fast paced job for someone with an enquiring mind and offers a unique and rare chance to join a growing business where no two days are the same.
Full time - 5 days per week (closed on Mondays & Sundays)
