EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A SUCCESS DRIVEN GRADUATE TO JOIN ONE OF THE WORLD'S LEADING FINANCIAL INSIGHT PROVIDERS.

Our client is the leading independent financial media group dedicated to covering alternative asset classes with a portfolio of publications, global conferences, and a network of specialist websites, dedicated to emerging investment markets. They have offices in London, New York, Maryland, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne and Tokyo.

They are looking for a passionate and self-motivated Sales Executive to join their high performing team to optimise subscription sales through proactively identifying, targeting and closing relevant prospects. This includes understanding the market, their competitors, developing prospects, booking appointments with and presenting to decision makers and closing deals over the phone.

Responsibilities Include

  • Proactively call and engage with all incoming prospects. This involves following up on pay wall hits on websites, first month registrants and email clicks from marketing campaigns.
  • Seek out new opportunities and build a strong pipeline of potential customers and business via existing client base, networking and other means.
  • Research and understand the market whilst working closely with the Sales Team Leader to identify and target key sectors, through intelligent use of the information and data they produce.
  • Book multiple virtual meetings daily with decision makers in relevant organisations.
  • Ensure colleagues within the company are fully informed of your activities and of all developments within the marketplace, both informally and through formal reporting
  • Assess sales literature used by the team and take a view as to whether it can be improved. If so, co-ordinate this work and ensure each team member uses this in an effective way
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects, reporting & data studies and you will have the opportunity to attend company events to network with prospects and subsequently contact to pitch relevant services as required.
  • Ensure all sales support tasks are completed accurately and to specified deadlines
  • Deliver positive, well-researched and tailored sales presentations to prospective customers. This includes (a) researching the prospective customer (b) identifying relevant profiles/articles in advance of meetings to best demonstrate how the service will suit them.
  • Proactively engage with the Client Executive and trialists to ensure that the prospective customer is convinced of the product(s) value to their work. Define decision making process and persuade them to purchase services over the phone.
  • Create and maintain accurate up-to-date records in the Microsoft CRM, ensuring best practise on internal processes. Ensure all exchanges with prospective customers including issues, opportunities and useful information are fully recorded and evaluated.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the market and products. Liaise with colleagues within the business in order to keep up to date with the latest product developments and through your own research

Requirements

Successful candidates will come with a range of skills and experience and will be keen to join the exciting Financial Services Industry.

Desired Experience:

  • Ideally some business development or sales experience (any sector) or the ability to demonstrate sales potential.

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

  • Negotiation skills
  • Objection handling skills
  • Strong Communication skills

Desired Knowledge/Skills:

  • Financial Media Sales or an interest to learn
  • An interest in Private Equity or keen to learn
