JOB DESCRIPTION: Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Business Development Manager – Surface Engineering
Entering the business, your primary focuses will be to strengthen existing client relations, identify and win new business, increase the UK sales turnover, and profit margins whilst being an active and valued member within a small team.
You will have the full support, guidance and 1-2-1 training from the UK General Manager, their knowledge and experience will be instrumental in enabling you to be successful and create an effective sales strategy to target and drive business growth (both in market share and turnover).
In addition, you will actively collaborate with Group colleagues, providing you with the full autonomy to explore new market infiltration, diversifying and complementing our current markets such as Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Oil and Gas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Business Development Manager – Surface Engineering
- Exceed annual revenue budget through sales to accounts in the market sectors agreed.
- Develop relationships with target accounts and key customers.
- Act as brand ambassador for the company.
- Establish strategic relationships with key buyers, product development, quality, and senior management personnel.
- Handle negotiations and create professional presentations to create new business opportunities.
- Work with internal technical and product development personnel to assure alignment of sales strategy and product offerings within technical and operational capabilities
- Collaborate with the European regional sales team to maximise profit by up-selling or cross-selling.
- Ensure the maintenance of pipeline reporting systems to provide real time information on sales forecasting, production planning, marketing communication effectiveness and salesperson productivity.
- Attend industry conferences and trade shows
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Business Development Manager – Surface Engineering
Ultimately, as our Sales Manager, you will be a technically minded sales person qualified through experience or education within an engineering discipline (mechanically or chemical,) as well as:
- Demonstrating a solid sales background of the full 360 sales cycle to identify and win business.
- Any knowledge of Metallurgy would be of particular interest, however, this is not essential as a we will consider applications from candidates who have experience of selling any technical product
- Ideally you will a proven track record of success selling a technical solution, however, we will also consider candidates with a background in consumables and capital equipment
- Having the technical and commercial acumen to understand business requirements and align a solution utilising our full range of services.
- You will have knowledge of the Automotive, Motor Sports, or Oil & Gas industries. Any knowledge of the Defence sector would also be of interest
- Displaying a strong eye for detail, able to problem solve through quickly assessing the problem, devising, and implementing remedial or preventive measures.
- Being an active team player, someone who can operate effectively both individual and collectively.
- Full UK driving licence, with the flexibility of UK travel as and when required.
