Job description
We’re looking for an English speaking moderator to join our remote moderation team.
The role will involve assessing and monitoring user-generated comments on online platforms, creating shift handovers, and working with the moderation team as well as our Management team. A passion for current affairs, breaking news stories and an interest in sport is key to this role and you should demonstrate this clearly in your application. Due to the nature of the role and the subject matter involved, you will often be exposed to difficult content including hate speech, toxic opinions and other offensive content, so a robust emotional resilience is required to carry out the work.
All applicants need to be based in the UK and speak English to native level.
The role will require you to work as part of a rota system. The hours for this project are laid out below, but you must be prepared to work evenings and weekends if the scope of the project changes over time. You will also be required to provide cover for sickness absence and/or annual leave on occasion.

Key role responsibilities:
- Working with a team of moderators to ensure user-generated content e.g. comments, photos and videos that are uploaded to our client social network pages and online communities agree with Terms of Use and Community Guidelines; removing inappropriate content and managing problem users
- Ad hoc escalation of urgent issues, customer service or technical questions, and moderation policy queries
- Working alongside our Management team to deliver excellence
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- A passion for current affairs and breaking news stories
- An interest in sport preferable
- Confident user of multiple social media networks
- An excellent understanding of the habits and idiosyncrasies of social media users
- An understanding of potential risks within social media spaces
- Previous moderation experience is an advantage
