The Sales Manager is responsible for this specialist manufacturing company's sales and marketing activity. Experience working in the marine industry and a keen interest in sailing and all things to do with boats are essential.
The company is a recognised brand in the international marine industry. You will build on its business success by maintaining good relationships and communication with customers, influencers and senior management. Through your experience, you will have relationships with dealers, distributors and end-users in the sailing industry.
The Sales Manager is part of the dynamic leadership team, and your role will be varied. It is hands-on whilst also being strategic. It is creative whilst also responding to customers' technical queries. A proven record of engaging with existing customers and developing new sales is essential.
As Sales Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and presenting an annual Sales & Marketing Strategy to be discussed and developed with the senior management team
- Through review and analysis, present a yearly customer forecast
- Maintaining a keen understanding of the product range and supporting technical and customer queries
- Maintain exceptional communications and build relationships with distributors and dealers
- Ensuring customers are in the loop for company activities and opportunities for growing their markets
- Making regular sales visits to key distributors
- Ensure the whole staff are aware of the results of sales efforts and ventures to maintain pride in the company brand
- Providing support and training to sales representatives, both at home and abroad
- Supporting customers' enquiries
- The coordination, management and attendance with staff at annual shows and trade events, which can involve weekend participation
- Maintaining market knowledge of pricing, discounts and product developments
- Assisting with sales communications, PR and publications and have oversight of Social Media
