This position is for a Business Development professional within the Sensing, Space, and Controls team. The role includes the responsibility for generating and securing profitable sales orders within designated market sectors across international territories and for further developing existing accounts and identifying new customers. Through close liaison with clients and market analysis, the appointed candidate will be expected to identify and deliver a full range of opportunities, extending from discrete projects through to major long term relationships.
This role will be located with our Collins team remotely in the UK. The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work with a team of business development professionals in conjunction with program management and engineering leads, to uncover, pursue and capture new business.
Identifying and winning new business opportunities
Key Account Management - working with customers and in-country agents
Formulating and implementing successful business capture plans for major sales prospects
Preparing successful winning proposals
Understanding the customer's technical requirements and directing them to the right solution
Upkeep of the orders and sales pursuit pipeline using an industry standard CRM
Assisting in the formulation of technology roadmap and product strategies
Attendance at international trade shows and exhibitions.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and prior relevant experience in a related field
Must be authorized to work in the U.K. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Experience of working with aerospace and defence OEMs and MODs in international markets demonstrated by tangible results in prior roles (e.g. pipeline growth, program wins, successful marketing campaigns)
Demonstrated ability to develop new business in international military markets
The ability to communicate at all levels within the customers company and to liaise internally with senior management, technical, project and contracts staff is critical in order to create successful new business capture plans and winning proposals.
Ability to travel extensively (approximately 50%) worldwide is an essential requirement for this role
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical understanding of inertial sensors/technology and control and actuation systems for guided weapons preferred
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM preferred
Proficiency in MS Office suite tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment locally and globally
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to source solutions to customer requirements or issues
