The Columbia is looking for a highly passionate and experienced Sales and Events Manager to oversee and manage the sales and events strategy at the hotel.
The Columbia is family-owned and operated hotel and events space. You will have the opportunity work directly with the owners and Directors of the hotel and join The Columbia as in embarks on an existing and significant refurbishment project.
The hotel is based in Lancaster Gate, London and overlooks Hyde Park. With 103 guest bedrooms and 7 large event rooms the hotel can cater for meetings and events from 10 - 400 guests. The Columbia offer events from meetings to large private parties, conferences, and weddings.
The Columbia is also a leading photography and videography location in London. Offering locations for editorial, advertorial, national and international advertising campaigns, music videos, television and cinematic feature releases. Here’s just a few of our happy clients: Vanity Fair, Vogue, ITV, Dazed, Killing Eve, A Very British Scandal (Scandal Productions), OKA, Misbehaviour, Gangs of London, Hereafter (Eastwood and Spielberg) and ASOS.
Your role will be pivotal in taking ownership and delivery of the sales and events strategy at the hotel, working alongside the hotel and events operations team.
You will responsible for taking and converting enquiries, planning events, account management and driving sale across the hotels event segments.
What we are looking for:
- A successful track record of at least 2-3 years in event sales.
- A strong commercial mindset with the ability to maximise revenue opportunities.
- Be a friendly and passionate and able to develop strong relationships with internal and external suppliers.
- Be able to manage and track the departments sales weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets.
- Be able to manage the hotels sales pipeline and driving sales new leads.
- Possess strong negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and contracts.
- Be a proactive and high energy team player with strong & positive interpersonal skills.
- Strong communicator with exceptional Account Management skills.
- Able to produce reports as required and highly computer literate
- Have previous experience in event or hotel marketing.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the hotel Directors in pursuit of hotels business goals.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:
- London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Event sales: 2 years (preferred)
