WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Sales Development team as a Consultant, where you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating Credit Risk through in-depth analysis on Company accounts and Experian searches, whilst also managing all Dealer On-Boarding to appoint, encode and maintain the entire dealer portfolio for the SCUK business and all partners.
For our dealers and field-based team, you will be a welcoming voice that is able to assist with their queries regarding their commission as well as being an attentive listener and problem solver too. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, and you will be joining a supportive team of advisors where you will be guided, trained, and developed by a dedicated team leader.
What you’ll be doing
- To assess and evaluate Credit Risk through in-depth analysis
- Reviewing and assessing Company Accounts to identify any potential Credit Risk
- To appoint, encode, maintain and manage the entire portfolio of appointed dealers
- Adhering to FCA Regulations and completing FCA checks to ensure Compliance
- Ensuring all Compliance requirements are enforced
- Completing Experian searches on Companies & Individuals and evaluating any identified risk
- Dealer Screening – to sweep Sanctions, Terrorists & Politically Exposed People (STP’s) to ensure we are compliant with Counter Terrorist Finance (CTF) & Anti Money Laundering (AML)
- Complete Media Checks to ensure we have mitigated any risk for Directors / Shareholders that we on-board
- Liaise with the Financial Crime Team (FCT) where High Risk Countries are identified and create Due Diligence files for submission to the OBE Forum within SAN-UK
- Respond to all Sales and internal queries by telephone and e-mail within agreed time-scales
- Assist with technical system queries (FOL / SOL)
- Assisting with Commission/Debit Back queries
- Amending and Loading Commission packages
- Processing and managing Operating Agreements to ensure terms are applied correctly and to ensure they remain compliant and within Legal requirements to enforce
- Profiling proposals within the agreed commission terms whilst allowing movement on commissions payable and adhering to FCA Regulations
- Password resets for Front End Systems (FES)
- Administration of the Dealer Accounting System.
- Administration of Business Components
- Administration of SALMAN for all Sales Management data
- Assign and Remove approved Products to appointed dealers
- Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework
What we’re looking for
- Well-developed Balance Sheet, P&L accounting skills and related controls
- Ability to interpret and evaluate information and make decisions and recommendations
- Ability to multi task and manage your own work
- Experience of the Regulatory environment associated with consumer credit activities
- Problem solving skills and can think conceptually and creatively
- Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an excellent telephone manner
- Ability to multitask and manage your own workload
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Highly organised and possess strong planning skills
- A positive and enthusiastic approach, self-motivated and receptive to change
- The ability to assess, manage and control credit risk within the business unit
- Knowledge of risk policy, systems and controls (desirable)
- Ability to make balanced risk-based recommendations for on-boarding (desirable)
- Ability to analyse & report on Financials using strong analytical/numerical skills (desirable)
- Assess and evaluate credit risk through in-depth business and financial analysis (desirable)

Other things you need to know
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.00. New Business shift pattern may apply should business needs permit.
