Job description
Post No. LEICH20034 - Museum and Visitor Services Assistant
We are looking for an outgoing and approachable person to join our team at Newport Museum and Art Gallery. You should be passionate about local history and culture and be keen to share this to inform and inspire our visitors.
We want a candidate who can communicate effectively and confidently with a variety of audiences and ages with enthusiasm, patience and resourcefulness. You will have experience of working with the public in a comparable environment.
You will generally work Tuesdays to Saturdays and occasional Sundays, Bank Holidays or evenings to support out of hour Museum & Art Gallery activities and events.
For an informal discussion of the post please contact Barbara Bartl, Newport Museum & Art Gallery Manager ([email protected])
We welcome applications for all our jobs in either Welsh or English. An application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
Newport City Council is committed to working towards its workforce being more representative of the population that we serve and particularly welcomes applications from people from the minority ethnic communities represented (or living) in the city.
