British Museum Company Full-time Permanent Application deadline: 12pm (midday) on Wednesday, 25th October 2023 About the role: The postholder will be responsible for providing the highest standard of service to the customers of the British Museum Shops and visitors of the British Museum. Please note, we have 7 vacancies available for this position. Key areas of responsibility: Selling and serving. Presenting an informative and helpful image to our customers. Merchandising: display, care, cleaning, and rotation of stock Operation of an EPOS till and its security. Cash handling and other forms of payment including EFTPOS, credit card and foreign currency. Stock control of given product areas, picking, and movement of stock from Retail warehouse to the shops. Being fully conversant with all procedures and policy of the British Museum Shops as set down by the Retail and Shop Managers and the staff handbook. Preparation of draft stock reorders and customer orders as appropriate. Appearance of the work areas, till points and public areas of the shop. Active participation in the running of the shop and its improvement. Familiarization with the Museum as a whole. Carry out any reasonable task as directed by the Operations Managers Assist in the preparation of promotions and displays. About you: Good general education including A levels or equivalent. Analytical and problem-solving skills. IT skills, Excel Intermediate level. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to plan work schedules and maintain effective processes and procedures.
