Sales Area Manager

At Saint Gobain Formula we are looking for a Sales Area Manager to work in our global Construction Specialities team,helping to manage and develop sales of all Formula products within a defined area of the northern half of England and Scotland. The Sales Area Manager will aim to create strong partnerships with Formula customers utilising the Saint-Gobain attitudes and to work with colleagues across functions to help form and deliver the Formula strategies for growth.
The Sales Area Managerwill be part of a team of 5 Sales Area Managers, covering worldwide operations with sales colleagues based across Europe. The role has you reporting directly into the Regional Sales Manager. This is a home-based role working for Saint-Gobain Formula one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK. Saint Gobain Formula aim to be the industry’s first choice for specialist gypsum and plasters solutions and through our people, we aim to build long term partnerships with our customers by excelling in product quality, customer service, technical support, innovation, and sustainability.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong business development and customer sales development background, with the ability to offer a consultancy service sales style providing technical solutions and project leadership
- Highly organised, numerate with excellent analytical skills.
- Previous National and Regional Account Management experience
- Commercial Negotiation experience with a strong understanding and awareness of commercial aspects
- Good Understanding of Construction Supply Chain
- The ability to work in a structured and autonomous way with the ability to manage the variety in the role and the variety of customers / industries you will be targeting.
What you will be doing:
- Provide a proactive technical sales service to customers to ensure customer satisfaction and to achieve Formula’s strategy of adding value
- Close and proactive management of the customer base. Including a careful analysis of each customers’ needs
- Achieve the commercial objectives through targeted actions to win new accounts, adding value at existing accounts and through successful price management and contract negotiations
- Implements the sales delivery element of the marketing plans, interacting across appropriate functions and promoting to customers NPD and specific marketing strategies enabling us to achieve and maintain our market position as product leaders
- Continually promoting our value and product proposition to meet customer and business needs, ensuring key business targets such as sustainability are met
- Communication of key customer and market updates including completion of a monthly report detailing relevant quantitative and qualitative feedback for the area
