Job description
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious Sales and Marketing Manager to head up the whole of our group activities, including Club Membership, Member Communications, Weddings, Events, Beauty and Day Spa.
This Sales and Marketing Manager appointment requires a person who relishes the exhilaration presented by this challenge and is not afraid of the hard work needed to achieve what is expected of them. The Leisure Industry provides an exciting, stimulating space to occupy, but working weeks are not always 9 to 5pm, Monday to Friday as we need to be available when prospective clients want to visit us. Some early evening and weekend shifts are required.
Beechdown is indisputably the finest health club in the area with 3000 members and a reputation for great customer service, exemplified by regular communication of the wide ranging schedule of activities that are available to members. The focus of the club has always been the members and so we typically see great retention and organic growth of the member-base. This allows Sales and Marketing the opportunity to focus on communication and messaging, brand and creativity rather than the aggressive sales pitches adopted by some leisure outlets.
The skills that would help someone to thrive include social media, website maintenance and copywriting for exciting and friendly communications such as internal newsletters.
The Events department hosts Weddings, Conferences, Hog Roasts, Dinner Dances and indoor/outdoor events of all kinds. We have a collaborative and effective sales team that can convert enquiries into orders.
The responsibilities here include management of the advertising budget in order to stimulate enquiries, keep the website fresh and leverage social media to maintain interest from the relevant market sectors.
The Beauty Department is one of the largest and best in the area with seven therapists and a loyal client base. We communicate new products and special offers monthly through multiple channels such as newsletters, social media and our website.
The successful candidate will have bundles of energy, be well organised and motivated for self-improvement. Applicants will need to have had experience of all aspects of marketing, both conventional and digital.
On your days off, or if you have the energy at the end of your working day, you will have free use of our extensive facilities such as the gym, swimming pool and tennis, racketball, badminton and pickleball courts etc. You will receive free meals on duty and free drinks even on your days off.
You will be working for a stable company that employs over 80 people, supported by a Managing Director who is a Member of the Institute of Marketing and if invited, is always available to contribute to brain-storms and idea forums.
This presents a great opportunity to be part of something stimulating and exciting. The role will be demanding but the freedom to contribute will be highly satisfying. You will be well rewarded through salary and the aforementioned benefits.
Relocation expenses by negotiation.
