Job Description Overview:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for preventing accidents in business and job sites. He/she will make sure that different workplaces meet safety and health requirements and then apply corrective measures if necessary. She/he will help create programs such as company policies, investigate cases of accidents, and implement post-injury follow-up procedures for workers.
Responsibilities:

  • Representing a team environment with collaborative skills and professional behavior to foster positive EHS culture.
  • Ensure that federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes are observed
  • Conducting on-site inspections and identifying unsafe conditions and work practices
  • Ability to quickly respond to facility EHS concerns
  • Providing Admin support, i.e., procurement, formatting, etc.
  • Participating in emergency planning and business continuity coordination with facilities and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety or relevant safety fields or relevant EH&S experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Health and Safety experience
  • Strong desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding setting.
  • The ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments concurrently, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to pivot quickly is critical.
  • Autonomous, able to manage the complexity inherent in a dynamic, high-growth environment
  • Exemplary organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Must be proficient with multiple technological platforms
  • BCSP certification is a plus
  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
  • Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work)
  • Frequently required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects
  • Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching)
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions
  • Operation of a motor vehicle driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Deep knowledge of local legal requirements.
  • Desirable: Experience in Utilities to include aerial work, underground work, & splicing

Key accountabilities:

  • Support Site Management in achieving EHS results
  • Drive the implementation of EHS policy on the field according to our client’s Region/Country-Cluster guidelines and targets, and the improvement of EHS results in the site.
  • Advice, help, coach, and support operational management in the EHS actions implementation to reach our client’s EHS objectives. Mobilize and coordinate with others to meet those objectives and deploy the plan.
  • Ensure EHS Risk Assessment is done & appropriate measures to control risks are defined for the Site.
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain emergency plans at Site level.
  • Make sure activities of sub-contractors are under control with respect to EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas.
  • Has full authority and must stop any operational activity resulting in an immediate high risk to People or the Environment.
  • Lead the EHS function on site
  • Monitor, assist, coach, assess, and develop the EHS teams on the site
  • Conduct induction programs for new EHS people on the site.
  • Involve social and medical partners and communicate with them about EHS

EHS Compliance

  • Monitor compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements & propose actions to correct any gap
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation of the Site.

Develop EHS culture on site

  • Influence the site EHS performance: facilitate change and EHS continuous improvement
  • Prepare and implement an EHS training plan and program with the support from HR and a local EHS communication plan.

Report, Measure & Review

  • Ensure that Accidents/Incidents are first prevented, and when occurring, reported, recorded, investigated, and analyzed. Establish and communicate REX reports in case of severe or potentially severe accidents. Ensure our client EHS call for actions are deployed at site level.
  • Prepare and submit monthly EHS reports.
  • Organize and lead internal EHS audits and inspections of the EHS reporting process in the Country/Cluster
  • Fatality / severe accidents

Working Conditions:*
This job operates in both office and field environments with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. This job routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally spend time outside the office when meeting clients or need to check on vehicles.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
