Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Trust Location: West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust
Location: Watford General Hospital, Watford, WD18 0HB
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm / 9.00am – 5.00pm
Pay: £26.06 per hour
The Role
We are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager to work at Watford General Hospital. You will be reporting to the Head of Compliance and will work as part of the integrated governance structure delivering of all aspects of H&S and risk management. Candidate must have worked Healthcare Environment.
As the Trusts’ senior competent person in health and safety, you will act as an expert resource in providing the knowledge and skills to assist in the generation of a positive health and safety culture throughout the Trust.
The Trust are looking for candidates who hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent. You may be a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or be educated to Masters/Post Graduate level or hold equivalent knowledge and experience.
What you’ll be responsible for:
· Providing concise, timely and impartial advice, guidance and support to managers and staff to ensure the effectiveness of the Trusts’ arrangements for promoting safe environments and work activities.
· Analysing and interpreting relevant legislation to advise and monitor compliance in line with national guidance, legislation, and statutory monitoring bodies such as the HSE/CQC.
· Facilitation of root cause analysis investigations.
· Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· Strong commitment to openness and a high level of integrity.
· Experience of learning form mistakes and encouraging an environment of learning and transparency.
· Able to work autonomously and manage own workload and meet deadlines
· Ability to deliver formal presentations to all levels of the organisation
· Previous healthcare experience
