Safety Health & Environmental Officer
An experienced Safety Health & Environmental Officer is required to join our existing SHEA Team, which is a critical team within Novus, our goal is to ensure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day and we place great emphasis on supporting our Operational Teams to ensure this happens. As a SHEA Officer you will be supporting our business within our Social Housing Maintain Division, regionally covering the South Region where our teams are undertaking Planned and Reactive Social Housing works. The locations you will be covering are Basingstoke, Devon, Cornwall, Leighton Buzzard & Watton. You will assist in the preparation and regular review of risk assessments, construction phase plans, environmental aspects/impacts registers and be involved with operational teams to develop and maintain local forums to promote safety, health, and environmental best practice.

An outline of your responsibility as a Safety Health & Environmental Officer:
- Conduct training and coaching at all levels to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
- Support operations management and supervisors on implementation of the company SHEQ Policies, Management Systems and Procedures.
- Take the lead in any investigations relating to RIDDOR Reportable Accidents, Lost Time Accidents, High Potential Incidents and Environmental Incidents
- Complete any other works related to the role of SHE Coach to support the wider SHEA function.
About You
The ideal Safety Health & Environmental Officer will have experience in a similar sector where you will have previously supported as a coach in this type of environment where inspection and site visits can vary but typically, smaller refurbishments on peoples homes is the main scope of works. You will hold a NEBOSH Certificate and Corporate Membership of IOSH and will have strong analytic and attention to detail skills and good communication skills to be able to write reports and present back to the wider team. Having experience of Management of Asbestos in building is also key to your success.
