Health and Safety Coordinator
(Permanent, Full-Time, Based on Site Rugby 5 days)

Your New Role:
We are recruiting for an enthusiastic health and safety professional to join our team on a permanent, full- time basis. This role will support the Health and Safety Manager by being the first point of contact for colleagues with health and safety concerns and advising or resolving as appropriate.
With strong IT skills and attention to detail, the role will involve the creation of documents and filing accurately within the Health and Safety Management System as well as managing and monitoring existing processes and procedures maintaining compliance with relevant standards.
You will be a people person and enjoy communicating with lots of different people, representing the
Health and Safety department across warehouse, office and external (road) personnel. You will be approachable, adaptable, knowledgeable and professional and above all, a team player.
This role will suit someone who is currently in a Health and Safety related position, perhaps as an administrator, looking to develop a career in Health and Safety. You will already have some great experience that you can bring with them, but will be willing to continuously develop your skills and experience in a professional team within an ambitious and growing Company.
You will have day to day responsibilities to include:
- Carrying out workplace, equipment and employee risk assessments
- Organising and conducting inductions and other internal H&S training
- Maintaining emergency response preparedness
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and identifying immediate and root causes and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
You will also have some longer-term projects and areas of responsibility to include:
- Coordination of H&S improvement projects
- Fire safety e.g., risk assessment, evacuation drills, equipment servicing contracts etc.
- CoSHH safety e.g., risk assessment for all chemicals and substances used on site, spill containment team training and drills etc.
- Working at height safety e.g., coordinating escape from height and rescue from height training and drills, maintaining equipment asset register etc.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Strong organisational and IT skills with attention to detail
- Confident communication skills with the ability to influence change
- Knowledge and experience of conducting risk assessments
- Experience in a warehouse setting
- Minimum IOSH Managing Safely qualification or awareness of relevant H&S legislation
- Ambition to continue with your own personal professional development
- Advantageous: 1 - 2 years in a Health and Safety role
- Advantageous: NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) or willing to work towards

We are recruiting for a permanent, full-time role, hours of work are 8:45am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
