Job description
FM Conway is looking to recruit a Bitumen Terminal Operative to join our laboratory based in Gravesend, Kent. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, covering both days and nights.
As part of our self-delivery model we have a bitumen terminal at Gravesend which allows us to import bitumen via ship. The bitumen is then transported to our asphalt plants to be used in our asphalt mixes. The role of the Bitumen Terminal Operative will be to assist with the planning and programming of this from the weighbridge whilst also supporting with the physical unloading of the ships.
Responsibilities of our Bitumen Terminal Operative
- Assisting with programming together with the truck loading schedule
- Ensuring all required maintenance and housekeeping duties are carried out
- Liaising with internal and external customers
- Ensuring that all vehicles leaving the site are loaded with the correct grade and correct weight and have the appropriate documents
- Assisting with any necessary weighbridge duties and polymer modified bitumen manufacturing on site
- Supporting with ship unloading
- Managing activities within the control room – this is a 24/6 operation
What we’re looking for in our Bitumen Terminal Operative
To be considered for the Bitumen Terminal Operative role you must have experience working with weighbridge systems, you will be a team player, with good communications skills and you will have a full UK driving license.
