We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety and Security Advisor to join our NEC Group Safety Team and will support the wider business in relevant areas as required. This role will focus on the arenas’ business, providing advice and practical support for all safety and security related activities to ensure delivery of a safe and secure environment to all customers, staff, promotors, visitors, organisers and exhibitors. Ensuring that all arenas’ activity is delivered with appropriate control measures, and any risks identified are mitigated by the service providers and the venue staff to protect the venue licence.

The successful candidate will understand the risks and consider the implications of the Protect Duty legislation, reporting and making recommendations to protect the NEC Group from terrorist threats and ensure it is adequately prepared to deal with major incidents as far as is reasonably practicable. Essential Skills and Experience:
One or more of the following three qualifications. Qualifications not held should be worked towards during employment and consideration of candidates without all three qualifications will be subject to relevant experience.

  • NEBOSH General Certificate, NG1 and NG2
  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate FSC1 and FSC2
  • Level 4 NVQ qualification in Security Management or Crowd Management or equivalent vocational training or experience.
    • Counter terrorism experience including understanding terrorism threats and protective security measures
    • Previous relevant work experience in the event industry, hospitality, police or military
