Salary: £21,579 - £21,968 per annum pro rata
Hours: 14 hours per week - working hours not yet set, and can be negotiated for the right applicant.
Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

More about the role:
At Central Bedfordshire Council you will be supported to find your greatness. This role will allow the successful candidate to be part of a small Team that supports the multi-agency Safeguarding Adults Board to effectively meets its statutory duties in assuring effective and robust safeguarding pathways and strategies across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough Councils and across safeguarding partner agencies.
The successful candidate will support the Safeguarding Board Manager and Independent Chair through administering Board Meetings, including taking accurate minutes, supporting agenda planning and obtaining and analysing information relating to the board priorities. Administrative support will ensure that information is adequately recorded, and priorities progressed effectively.
The successful candidate will form part of a well-established team. You will receive the necessary support and training and work alongside The SAB Manager and Independent Chair.
There is also opportunity to provide administrative support more widely, across the adult safeguarding team, which also considers alerts of abuse or neglect of adults (who have care and support needs) and applications under The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. This will provide variety in the role and provide additional opportunities for ongoing growth and development.
Tasks include:
- Provide a confidential support to operations of the Adult Safeguarding Team – in particular The Safeguarding Adults Board.
- Administration of all aspects of the Safeguarding Adults Boards statutory core duties and priorities. This is using the Council’s systems and involving Council staff, external agencies and the public.
- Provide and manage spreadsheet systems, monitoring, updating and analysing data as and when required to a high and accurate standard, checking accuracy and prioritising work.
- Provide and manage word processing systems, drafting letters, proof-reading reports, preparing documents and correspondence as and when required to a high and accurate standard, checking accuracy and prioritising workload.
- Provide an effective link with all levels of local authority personnel and other organisations as well as members of the public.
- Effective administration of complex meetings, learning events and conferencing using Microsoft Applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel) and the Councils own administrative and security systems to best effect.
- Travel to and from meeting venues.
We’re looking for someone with good Maths and English skills (to GCSE grade C standard or equivalent), who is proficient in all Microsoft Office application and has experience of providing administrative support. You’ll also have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You’ll be part of a small team and be provided with clear guidance on the specific administrative tasks required of you.
