Head Waiter/Waitress – The Rooftop – The Trafalgar St. James
Up to £16.00 per hour including Service Charge
Part of Crimson Hotels, The Trafalgar St. James, Curio Collection by Hilton is a 5 Star hotel with 131 bedrooms including 3 signature suites, and a number of venues consisting of our unique Rooftop bar and Rockwell that pride themselves in the quality of food service that they provide.
The Role:
As a Head Waiter/Waitress, you will play a key part in making our guests' experience one they will always remember. You will need to ensure you demonstrate a thorough understanding of all menu items provided and identify opportunities for up-selling and promoting when appropriate. Head Waiter/Waitress' will work well as a team to ensure swift and efficient service to all our guests.
You will also - but not be limited to:
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and assist across the hotel;
- Ensure a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained;
- Supervising a cohesive and trained team to ensure they are able to provide superior guest service and maximize revenue;
- Being fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel and to pass this information on to the guest whenever possible to maximise hotel sales;
- Maintain high levels of enthusiasm and commitment to every task undertaken;
- Actively participate in training and development programs and maximise opportunities for self-development;
- Complete quality Mise en Place including cleaning, setups, and handovers as well as report and follow up on any comments and guest queries as they occur.
The Individual:
An ideal candidate is a person with a clear passion for service. Someone who engages with guests easily and is able to use their intuition and creativity to deliver a wonderful experience for everyone. The ability to multitask and prioritise is important, as well as the ability to work well under pressure with the biggest smile. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, produce quality work and be flexible to work shifts.
Although experience within a similar environment is preferable, we look for attitude, quality, and interpersonal skills rather than experience as we will give you the tools to ensure you are successful in your role.
