AFC Modelling United Kingdom (UK) who are responsible for developing and optimising methods and models to monitor clients’ transactional behaviour that aligns with the Bank’s risk appetite.
Reporting to the Vice President RTCA & Scope of Monitoring (SoM) AFC Modelling UK, you will be accountable for assessing AML risks linked to client activity – by assisting in a regular SoM exercise to determine the perimeter of what should be monitored in transaction monitoring (TM) in relation to inherent business product risks and determining the associated TM rules to be used to detect Money Laundering activity across these products for United Kingdom & Ireland (UKI) in line with the Bank’s risk appetite.

Your key responsibilities
Assist with the annual SoM assessment, linking back to the RTCA to ensure that all transactions and account types across UKI that should be monitored are being monitored
As part of the SoM review, identify coverage gaps in current state TM to address the key AML/Counter-Terrorism and Proliferation of Weapon of Mass Destruction Financing risks inherent in the products and services offered by the Bank and to propose recommendations for closing observed gaps
Support the annual RTCA across multiple lines of business (covering correspondent banking, retail, commercial, brokerage and trade finance) and multiple TM systems (Mantas and Smaragd)
Ensure that the monitoring perimeter is identified and documented (transaction types, trades, and account types), including a fully documented understanding of exclusion & transformation logic within the TM Perimeter by line of business for UKI, identify and document any gaps, and develop a prioritised plan for remediation
Where required, perform data quality issue root-cause analysis and data remediation activities
Support the subject matter experts in AFC Modelling technology-related projects
Your skills and experience
Previous relevant experience of direct experience in Financial Crime Compliance, Risk Assessment or Quality Assurance in Financial Services, Banking or Regulatory environment
Working knowledge of a major market AML TM system, for example, Actimize or Oracle Mantas
Proven track record of delivering quality output (technical documentation, presentations, communications) in a clear, structured, comprehensive way and in a timely manner
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal coupled with the ability to interpret complex requirements and to be a self-starter
Experience of working on data related projects and understanding quality and data lineage frameworks would be desirable
