Job description
Risk and Insurance Manager
We’re looking for a Risk and Insurance Manager to join our great team!
Tower Hamlets is a place of rapid change, and home to vibrant people, often with few material resources but high aspirations; and passionate about their family and community. It is a place where diversity is celebrated, and people make things happen and progress. The same is true of the Council.
We have just relocated to our new offices which sees a historic town hall in the centre of the borough revitalised as a state-of-the-art modern office environment, that is close to the community and connected further afield by some of the best transport links in London.
High quality financial management and an unrelenting focus on value for money is fundamental to achieving our ambitions for the borough. It’s essential that we make the very best use of the resources available to us, and that we can achieve the best return on investment for our community.
We’re looking for people who can bring rigour and proven expertise to each of these portfolios - individuals who can advise and influence through a blend of technical expertise and the ability to foster positive relationships with others.
We are looking for talented senior managers who share our vision and have the passion and ability to make things happen. It is a complex, busy, dynamic and above all an exciting place where you can make a lasting difference.
That’s why we’re looking for the right person to maintain a strong focus on risk and insurance, and to reap their own rewards by joining us at such an exciting time.
Tower Hamlets vision for our borough is that: people are aspirational, independent and have equal access to opportunities; we are a borough that our residents are proud of and love to live in; and we are a dynamic, outcomes-based council using digital innovation and partnership working to respond to the changing needs of our borough. We want people who aspire to our TOWER values: Together; Open; Willing; Excellent; Respect.
Tower Hamlets has a zero-tolerance approach to, and works to eradicate, all forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, status as a civil partner, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and maternity and looks to employ a diverse workforce representative of those groups. We recognise that people can also be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class.
We welcome applicants interested in flexible working arrangements and also applicants who live in the borough
