The Opportunity
Our client is the largest provider of IT asset services in the UK. Their services are secure, ethical & cost-effective.
They are undertaking a major System Transformation in 2023 to support its rapid expansion through both acquisition and organic growth. This transformation includes the implementation of a new core Finance System.
They are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Team Leader and the Management Accountant as they review data quality and perform essential maintenance of our existing ledgers. The Accounts Assistant will assist in the improvement of our ledgers data (Sales, Purchase and General ledger account) to prepare the business for the implementation.
Following the implementation, the Accounts Assistant will be critical in actioning resolutions and fixes which are identified by the project team or business as we bed in the new system.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real noticeable contribution to a large-scale software investment project.
The Package
- £25k - £26k pro rata
- 25 days holiday Pro Rata
- 6 month FTC
The Role
- Reviewing, improving, and maintaining data quality in the existing sales ledger, purchase ledger and other ledgers as required.
- Sourcing (through research, liaising with the wider business and customer & supplier calls) and imputing essential mandatory data required for the new system
- Performing ledger clean-up tasks and data reconciliations as required
- Carrying out tests on data to check its suitability for use in the new system
- Engaging with the Project Team as needed to answer emerging questions or to provide requested data
- Providing status updates to various stakeholders and contributing to the conversation as the transition takes place
The Person
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Excellent organisation & planning skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines while maintaining the quality and accuracy of the work
- Accounts management understanding
- Work collaboratively within a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Competent user of Excel and familiar with Windows based products
- Ability to work in a changing environment
- Experience of dealing with a changing, fast paced business
- Experience (but not essential) in accounts payable and/or credit control environments
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Salary: £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
