The role?
Due to an internal promotion on site, a new role has arisen on one of our key projects based in Barry, South Wales for a Rigger to come join the team on a permanent basis on site. This position is full time offering 40 hours a week, with opportunity for overtime and on call.
You will be responsible for carrying out rigging duties in line with legislative and site requirements and to maintain rigging equipment on site. Other main duties and responsibilities will include;
- Communicating with the rigging and project team
- Manoeuvring loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
- Ensuring compliance with lifting regulations and company safety procedures.
- Ensuring the lifting team(s) are of the correct number, experience and competence levels to safely complete all lifting operations
- Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections
- Liaise and work with the incumbent contractors and other sub-contractors as required to carry out other and multi-discipline work on the cranes
You are?
To be successful for this position you will have previous experience in a Rigging role and have experience with the inspection, service, repair & test of all rigging & lifting equipment. You will hold an ECITB Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures and an ECITB Slinger Banksman certificate. You will also have knowledge & understanding of LOLER Regulations and LEEA Guidelines.
This is an onshore position based on a large project. Candidates applying must be in the market for a permanent staff position, this is not a role for self employed contractors. It would also be preferable if candidates were from a commutable distance of Barry, South Wales due to this being a permanent role.
