JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: STAFF NURSE
GRADE: BAND 5
QUALIFICATION: RGN
REPORTS TO: Clinic Sister
Specific attributes & skills required for this position should
include the following:-
- Knowledge of and skills to include at least 6 months experience in Gynaecology.
- Skills also to include at least 3 months experience and competence in the practice of Phlebotomy.
- Good literacy skills, well spoken and fluent in and a good understanding of English (especially if it is not their first language).
- Experience in the Private Sector environment, especially an outpatient clinic.
- Flexibility in working hours.
- The ability to work calmly and competently under pressure.
HOURS
37 ½ / 30 hours a week. Monday through Thursday /Friday.
No weekends.
PAY
Salary starting on £30,000 per year and to be reviewed after 3 months.
All staff are put on a trial and proving basis for 3 months.
HOLIDAYS
All bank holidays
27 days annual leave for full time position. Pro rata for part-time employees.
The job mainly entails taking blood, assisting doctors in procedures like colposcopy, urodynamics, coil insertions, hormone implants and chaperoning ultrasounds.

The postholder must maintain the confidentiality of information about all patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with the UK
Data Protection Act 2018 & UK GDPR.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Employees must be aware of the responsibilities placed upon them under the
Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) to ensure that the agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for patients, employees and staff.
RISK MANAGEMENT
All staff have a responsibility to report all clinical and non-clinical accidents or incidents promptly and when requested to co-operate with any investigations undertaken.
