Job description

The Revalidation Project Manager forms a crucial role within the Chief Medical Officers team at East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust.

The team consists of a Junior Project Manager, supporting the Revalidation and Job Planning Project Managers, led by the Chief Medical Officer’s Senior Business and Operational Manager.

The principle role of the Revalidation Project Manager is to support the organisations Chief Medical Officer in delivering the statutory duties required of a Responsible Officer; these duties are set out under the Medical Profession (Responsible Officer) Regulations 2010.

The Project Managers within the team enable and contribute towards achieving these responsibilities and provide a crucial function for the safe and effective running of the organisation. The purpose of the Revalidation Project Manager is to support these functions while leading on aspects of the Chief Medical Officers portfolio to deliver improvements to medical appraisal and revalidation across the Trust.

As of this year, the number of Medical Practitioners connected to East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust had increased by 65% since 2012, meaning more medical practitioners to provide a Responsible Officer service to.

  • Enabling the delivery of the Trusts Responsible Officer statutory responsibilities;
  • Developing, initiating, and delivering projects relating to medical appraisal and revalidation;
  • Supporting the Appraisal Lead in achieving their objectives;
  • Co-ordinating reports and supporting evidence of current and projected performance against key performance indicators;
  • Delivering mandated reports to the Board of Directors on behalf of the CMO;
  • Supporting and assisting medical staff with achieving the requirements of appraisal and revalidation;
  • Organising and servicing the Responsible Officer Advisory Group (ROAG).
