Job description
The Retail Operations department is responsible for generating income and profit for the Bodleian Libraries, through on-site sales in our two shops and online at bodleianshop.co.uk. We develop and sell a varied range of unique merchandise which is inspired by the vast collections of the Bodleian Library. We also operate a successful wholesale and brand licensing business.
Supporting the Retail Manager in managing all day-to-day shop operations, you will ensure sales are maximised through the delivery of excellent customer service and effective stock displays presented in a welcoming environment. You will work across both shops (The Old Schools Quad Shop and the Weston Library shop) on a roster.
You will have previous experience of supervising a team in retail or another visitor-orientated role, be self-motivated, dependable and able to pay attention to detail, and have a commitment to providing the highest standards of customer service.
This is a part-time, permanent role, working 22 hours per week. You will be required to work alternative weekends and every Monday & Tuesday.
This role will involve manual handling.
