Job description
Marriage’s Country Store at Parkway, Chelmsford is seeking a Retail Sales and Warehouse Assistant. This role will suit someone who thrives on providing a high level of quality customer service. As part of a small team, you will be tasked with ensuring the Country Store is run efficiently and safely. The Store is open Monday to Saturday.
Key responsibilities include
- Serving on Epos (electronic point of sale software) based till, cash handling
- Unloading and checking off deliveries
- Housekeeping duties (including site security)
- Providing excellent customer service, advising customers on appropriate feeds
- Loading purchases to customers vehicles
- Packing of mail orders for the online flour shop
- Answering phone enquiries
- Preparing stock for the shop floor (including peanuts)
- Operating the forklift truck (once training course completed)
- Accurate recording of the sale of medicine sales (training will be given)
Person Specification
Essential
- Team player
- Clear communicator; in person, on the phone
- Experience of customer service
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure
- Warehouse / sales experience
- Positive and confident attitude
- Comfortable working in a chilled temperature warehouse environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of a wide range of animal feeds
- SQP qualified
- Forklift Truck licence
- Animal nutrition/welfare-based qualification
Working hours
37.5 hours per week, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Saturday working a five-day week rota.
