Founded in 2018 by owners Hannah and Oliver, we are continuing to expand our team to manage increased demand for our products and our planned further scaling of the business. This includes the exciting opening of our first bricks and mortar retail premises in Stow-On-The-Wold, Gloucestershire.
Job Description
In the role of Retail Assistant you will provide outstanding customer service, offering expert assistance and selling Home County Co. products to our customers. Your primary duties will include opening and closing the shop, arranging products on display shelves, providing customer assistance, processing payments and keeping the shop clean.
Other duties include:
- Receiving, unpacking and arranging new shipments from head office, as well as external suppliers
- Arranging and labelling goods on the display shelves
- Assisting customers in finding the products they are looking for
- Processing customer payments using the POS system provided
- Addressing customer complaints and enquiries, both in-person and via the customer service email address (full training will be provided)
- Providing shopping advice and recommendations to customers
- Cleaning and rearranging the store before and after hours
- Performing periodic stocktakes
- Collaborating with the management team and other team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organised at all times

Details
Given the size of the shop we envision one member of staff per day being plenty, but this will be revised over busy periods, and analysed on a regular basis. The Home County Co. HQ is in Mentmore, Buckinghamshire, so members of the management team will also be on hand periodically to work from the shop, particularly as we open and ensure all staff are trained and comfortable.
- 2 x part-time positions are available, working on a split rota varying between 22.5-28 hours per week:
- Week 1: Sunday-Wednesday (28 hours)
- Week 2: Thursday-Saturday (22.5 hours)
- Shop opening hours and shifts:
- Monday-Saturday:
- Shop Open 10am-5pm
- Shift 9.45am-5.15pm (7.5 hours)
- Sunday:
- Shop Open 11am-4pm
- Shift 10.45am-4.15pm (5.5 hours)
- Overtime available as required, particularly during busy periods
- Place of work is 3 Talbot Court, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham GL54 1BQ
- Salary: £10.50 per hour
- Immediate start available from 1st March onwards
