1. Entry requirements
A background in retail and/or customer services is essential
2. Skills required
You’ll need:
-Basic Maths skills, for stock taking and deliveries etc.
-Basic Computer skills
-Ability to undertake manual handling activities safely
-Confident in approaching customers and giving advice
-Experience in Open/Closing Store
-Experience in Cashing Up Tills
3. What you'll do
Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Advising customers
- Operation of computer systems and checkouts
- Online Picking, Packing
- Maintaining stock levels and stock rotation
- Dealing with deliveries which will include heavy manual handling
- Keeping the store clean and tidy
- Assisting customer
- Checking, changing and dealing with any stock issues
- Answering the phone and dealing with customer queries
- Open/Close Store
- Cashing Up Tills
5. Working hours, patterns and environment
The role will be at first 1-2 days a week these days will be dependant upon business requirements, these may differ week from week but will be give a months shifts in advance. The stores opening hours are 10am-6pm Monday- Saturday, 11am-4pm Sunday. We request staff be on site 15 minutes prior to stores opening.
You’ll be in close contact with animals, and may have to deal with unpleasant tasks and smells.
The work will be unsuitable if you have certain allergies, can't lift heavy goods on busy delivery days and would struggle in a very busy environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: £10.00-£14.00 per hour
