The Role:

Hampshire has a strongly performing Children’s Services Department and high ambition for its children and young people. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Virtual School plays a vital role in discharging each authority’s duty to promote the education of children in care. In partnership with the Data and Information Team, the Virtual School monitors the attainment and attendance of children in care so that those young people can achieve their potential and the team can direct its resources to where they are needed.

The work of the Data and Administrative Officer is central to the work of the Virtual School and College and essential to the responsibilities of the Executive Virtual School Headteacher. The role will include overseeing data quality issues of our electronic systems and general administrative tasks. The information provided by the officer ensures that the council can meet its statutory duty to promote education of looked after children.

The successful candidate will support data input, reporting and interpretation by Virtual School and College managers who work under the direction of the Executive Virtual School and College Headteacher.
