Job Title: Outside Rooms Retail Sales Person
Reports To: Head of Retail Sales
Location: JP Corry Dromore
Hours of Work: 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday; 8:30 to 4pm Friday
(October – February)
From March - September you will be given a half day off during the week, as agreed with your line manager, and in place of this you will work every Saturday morning 8:30 to
12:00pm

AG is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join its dynamic and expanding Outside Rooms retail sales team. This position will be based at our Outside Rooms display area in JP Corry
Building Merchants Dromore. The successful candidate should be passionate and want to inspire our customers to create their own unique and individual Outside Rooms using our market leading, landscaping products.
Whilst helpful, no landscaping experience is necessary for this role. A comprehensive induction and training programme will be given to the successful candidate so that they have all the tools necessary to be a first-class showroom-based sales advisor.
The successful candidate will be given ongoing support and training to assist them along AG’s career progression paths over time.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Maximise sales for the Outside Rooms division.
- Processing orders and proactively engaging with customers.
- Dealing with enquiries and building a pipeline of quotations.
- Building a network of installers, cultivating a close and helpful working relationship to grow a repeat business stream.
- Assist and guide customers in their paving and walling choices to ensure the optimum, landscaping solution is achieved for the customer.
- Ensure the Outside Rooms Centre is maintained to a high standard, by merchandising and replenishing literature and samples.
- Responsible for the day to day running of the Outside Rooms branch including opening and closing of premises.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Outside Rooms team including Landscape Designers and the Marketing department to identify projects of interest and marketing opportunities.
- Work with the Paving Installer Manager to identify and grow potential Installers.
- Build relationships with internal colleagues in the wider AG family & JP Corry to ensure processes operate smoothly.
- Liaise with both, existing AG recommended installers and new paving installers, to build and cultivate close working relationships.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and be part of the development of our product range by identifying new products suitable for the market.
- Take responsibility for personal development and actively seek opportunities to better yourself as part of a dynamic team.
- Any other duties as required by Senior Management and the Directors of the Company, commensurate with the role and within capabilities.

Employee Specification: Outside Rooms Retail Sales Advisor
Criteria: Essential: Desirable:
Attainments: 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at Grade C or Third level qualification in a e.g. Qualifications, experience, training above including Maths and English Business related field
Previous sales experience in a retail or showroom environment. Knowledge of landscape design.
Experience in the tiling
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other sector/construction industry software packages. and/or building products knowledge
Valid driving licence with the ability to travel to and from work areas as and when required.
Aptitudes: An excellent communicator, who is Experience of calculating areas of e.g. Communication skills, friendly, polite, and very engaging. design for order quantification.
Negotiation skills, Influencing skills
Proven ability to be proactive.
Effective in building and maintaining good customers relations with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
Personality: Self-motivated with a positive attitude, Ability to take ownership of their e.g. Attitude, Reliability, with a proven desire to learn. own environment and seek help
Co-operation when needed.
Ability to prioritise and multi task a
seasonal workload.
